BEGINNERS - Students learn the fundamentals of Mid-East dance
posture, basic dance technique and terminology. Finger cymbals (zllls)
are taught in this class to help students learn the different patterns
used in performing the dance. Students receive a through workout and improve flexibility, strength and tone. The class is a non-intimidating environment for people at any level of fitness or dance experience. Please wear comfortable clothing and a hip scarf. Plan to stay in this
level for 1 or 2 eight week courses or until the beginning technique is
mastered. Please wear clothing that is not too heavy or too large and
use ballet shoes, stockings or bare feet for dance class.

BEGINNERS 2 AND 3 - This class continues at a faster pace than the
beginning class and adds the study of various belly dance rhythms,
more focus on hand styling, footwork and more advanced technique,
combinations and finger cymbal patterns. The shimmy dance is taught
at this level and creates much more energy endurance.

BEGINNERS 4 & INTERMEDIATE - This class is for students who
are comfortable with the dance vocabulary, a variety of Arabic rhythms and have taken classes for several sessions. Students should be able to learn fairly quickly by watching and to retain choreography.

ADVANCED AND SEMI-PROFESSIONAL - Students at this level
must be able to perform with smoothness and talent and know the
choreography for each of the countries depicted in the performance.
Additionally, the teacher focuses on the fine details of gaining a feeling
of expression ,which goes on top of technique. Classes include veil
work, hip articulation, zlll work, and slow improvisational movements.

PROFESSIONAL - DANCERS ARE INVITED TO BE A MEMBER OF
THE "TRISHA MID-EAST DANCE TROUPE" BY PAT KELLAR.
These dancers are of the highest quality performers at the studio and
have studied the dance for many years.They perform several times
a year and have authentic costumes of the Middle Eastern countries.
The dancers must know all choreography used in the complete program.The dance troupe is a member of the International Institute
of Wisconsin and perform in the "Festival of the Dance"at Serb Hall
and the"Holiday Folk Fair" at State Fair Park.
